Absolutely love this camera!. I moved from an older Kodak Easyshare camera to this awesome camera. Canon PowerShot A1100IS takes amazing pictures no matter what, and has a setting for almost everything (you just have to take the time to figure out how to use all of the different settings). Canon PowerShot A1100IS is a perfect size to carry with my in my pocket and seriously always takes good pictures- even if Canon PowerShot A1100IS is an action shot. Sometimes Canon PowerShot A1100IS does seem like there is a little bit of a delay when taking a picture, but that really doesn't bother me at all because its worth Canon PowerShot A1100IS for the great pictures. The only slight problem I have had is getting my pictures to my photo editing application on my computer (I have a Macbook so I'm sure Canon PowerShot A1100IS would be fine on Windows), but I eventually figured Canon PowerShot A1100IS out- it's just kind of annoying. But besides that, this is by far one of the best cameras on the market for a GREAT price- I am thrilled to have Canon PowerShot A1100IS and definitely could not go back to any other type of camera. Canon is the best!
Great camera. Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Pink) Purchased this camera for my wife. Canon PowerShot A1100IS is her first digital camera. I set Canon PowerShot A1100IS on automatic and she takes great pictures. Canon PowerShot A1100IS is small enough to be carried in her purse with an extra battery. I put in a 2GB SD card so there is plenty of storage. Always having in with her has encouraged her to regularly use it.
When I don't take my larger camera, Canon PowerShot A1100IS becomes our primary camera. Canon PowerShot A1100IS has enough manual setting to fit most situations and the IS is a great feature.
I definitely recommend this camera for anyone who is looking for a small
camera that is easy to use and takes great pictures.
Image Sensor Stopped Functioning after 2 Months. I bought the Canon Powershot SD1100 IS to replace a larger Minolta Dimage camera that I sometimes did not carry on short trips because of its size and weight. I used the Powershot for 2 months and was very happy with the results until one day just before Christmas I powered Canon PowerShot A1100IS up and the image sensor failed to transmit a picture. The camera had NEVER been dropped or roughly handled. I phoned Canon technical support and learned that spontaneous sensor failure is a common problem with this camera. And while the camera is under warranty so repair & return shipping will be free, I still had to pack up the camera and personally pay to ship Canon PowerShot A1100IS to their Powershot repair facility in Illinois. In my opinion, spontaneous failure of a critical camera system is unacceptable, and the fact that Canon knows about this problem and still requires customers to pay to ship their cameras for warranty repair is irresponsible. I would not recommend buying the Powershot SD 1100, and I certainly won't be doing business with Canon again.
